I went to an interactive theater event last week called "Lush Valley" last week at HERE.  I believe it was meant to inspire political engagement. It was indeed well performed, interestingly conceived, and thought provoking. Fun as well. The premise was that the audience/participants were applying to immigrate to a nation/concept called Lush Valley.

About to return from Atlanta. Got a few lovely second-hand garments, saw a well-nigh amaazing show by Scott Turner Schofield, and generally had a fucktastic time.

Anyone else recall that commercial of my youth? Ah, the power of the jingle. I forget what store it was for, but I do know that I just ate an entire half pint of ripe, ripe raspberries from the Lincoln Sq. greenmarket, and they almost made me weep and quake with joy.  Well, I emitted some moans, anyway.  Golly.

Well no, that's not my title, it's Moira Cutler's and it's her play at  WOW Cafe Theatre.*   However I did construct a pretty snazzy banana-headdress for the show and am running the sound board on March 13, 14, and 15th. So, to tout it with vigor!

Went to the annual WOW Cafe Theatre retreat - WOW is both a physical theater space, and a collective, anarchist of a sort, of women and trans people. I feel it was a very good retreat, went pretty darn smoothly and in a gorgeous location ( Read more... )

So, there's this trans theater fest at WOW! More a minifest - it's six shows by Ignacio Rivera, and three variety shows on the Saturdays.
