Not a great week, by any means. I've just felt a little out of all week. Add incessant work drama, cold weather, and a head cold on top of that - doesn't sound great, right? And it has got to sound better than it is in reality.
I was signing on to AIM about a week ago or so, and for some reason I signed in to my old s/n. I didn't realize it at first and then I got an IM from someone I didn't recognize. Turns out it was an uncle from my dad's side. My grandparents had occasionally IM'ed me, so I am assuming thats where he got the s/n. Anyways - turns out that my cousin, who is a couple years younger than me, is engaged. The marriage/engagement announcements just keep comin'. Haha.
Lunar Park is finished and I am on to Old School. Impressive, right?! So far, so good. I'll keep you posted.
I caught the StageWest's production of Angels in America: Millenium Approaches last night. I liked it quite a bit. It is a pretty heavy play to take in midweek, but I liked how it was done - simply, and not overdone wth the special effects. The acting was well done, too. I didn't realize that Craig designed the lights for the show until I flipped through the playbill during the first intermission. I was surprised at how full the house was for a Wednesday night. The audience was really into it, though. I sat with this group of older men who drank wine like it was going out of style before the show and these two college students who spoke primarily in Russian, I think. The only annoyance of the night were the two college students I was sitting by. The kept taking pictures and taking notes (obviously they were watching this for a class - what ever happened to just renting the movie?!) - talk about distracting.
I really hate admitting this, but I am tempted to see
Saw II (Get it? See? Saw? Sea-saw? Hehe). Why? I don't know. I was hoping Dennetta would want to go tomorrow night, but she has to work until 11-ish. I still might see it before we get together for drinks...I can't be the only one wanting to see this, can I?
The housewarming party in Cedar Rapids is Saturday. I think it will be a good time. It will be nice to see some people I haven't seen in awhile (although I am sure there will be a few I saw at the reunion in August) and all that. I'm in the process of making a mixed cd for the trip - any suggestions?
Also (for anyone who might care): Next Saturday is my birthday. Plans are in the process of being made. If you'd like to be put on the guest list (for lack of much more apt term), let me know.
