Dennetta and I decided to go downtown Friday night for drinks, so we met up after she got off of work. I got there about 15 or so minutes before she did. There were quite a few people out and a majority of them had on Halloween costumes. Anyways, I went in to the Lift and when I was ordering a drink, someone came up behind me and tapped me on the shoulder. They asked if I went to East Union, and when I said that I had, they started talking and whatnot...the whole time I was trying to figure out who the Hell it was. Turns out it was my Spanish teacher from Junior year. Talk about random, right? We talked for about 10 minutes before Dennetta should up. We only stayed at the Lift long enough for one drink because it was too loud for Dennetta (I also think she wanted to get away from the guy who was hitting on her) and decided to head over to another bar after that. We had a good time, and it was nice to catch up.
I tried to get as much work done as possible before heading to Cedar Rapids on Saturday afternoon (By the way, thank you all so much for the car ride music suggestions. Really. Ha!). I had a great time at Erin and Matt's party. There were alot of people there, but I do believe I was the only single one there. I didn't really know a whole lot of them, but a few of our friends who live in the area showed up. Everyone had kind of filtered out by 10:30, so the rest of us decided to go to this dive bar in Marion. We decided to leave once one of the girls who had come with us got so drunk she was crying and getting hysterical. I mainly sat with Erin and Sarah - Matt had stayed back home and Sarah's husband had to work - but they were more than ready to leave once they started getting hit on by this guy who was so drunk by that point we could barely understand him. When we got back to Erin and Matt's we hung out and watched some I Love the 80's: 3D before falling asleep. I actually got to catch the couple of episodes I had missed.
I left Erin's semi-early Sunday, thanks to Daylight Savings Time. I tried to get ahold of Bill to meet up on my way home (he had his own party Saturday night so wasn't able to come up) but he didn't get back to me by the time I left. This would probably be a good time to mention that I found out another good friend of mine is engaged on Saturday night and will be getting married in April. And if I remember the conversation correctly, Erin and Matt are thinking of getting married next Fall. I know, right?!
I still have absolutely no idea what I am going to do for my birthday. I'm in serious need of suggestions. I am thinking that there will be a second celebration of my birth on the 10th in Iowa City, to coincide with me being in the area for Bright Eyes.
Happy Halloween, kids.
