Long day... drove all the way to Cleveland to meet with my advisor (for about 45 minutes), met another grad student doing some similar work, finally got a chance to poke my head in at the Kang Do Won to say hi to everyone, and stopped by Mom and Dad's on the way home for dinner. Left at 9 AM, got back at 11 PM. Yawn.

I'm off to State College, PA, for our family joint birthday celebration (Dad's birthday was yesterday, so we've made a tradition of celebrating jointly)... which means no CWRU SF marathon for me. So, my new thesis topic involves detecting bugs (and intrusion attempts) by instrumenting the code that's of interest, extracting variable state profiles, and doing cluster analysis on the resulting data, looking for outliers. I fat-fingered my CWRUnet password when I was logging in (to Windows... on an iMac), and got the following error message:

"The password entered is incorrected for the acount entered."

I'm in Cleveland now, posting from the CWRU library, and screwing up my courage to go fight the huge battle of paperwork that needs to get sorted out to get me my degrees... and on track to write that eensy little 50-page paper, by the way. At least I get to hang out with moominmuppet at the end of the day....
