A search for my Nineteenth-Century ancestors seemed to turn up evidence that one "Bierce, Stephen R" fought for the Maine Infantry's 11th Regiment during the Civil War. I'm still in Season 1, and tonight I saw the one in which the ghost of a TW hanger-on follows Gwen around to witness (and provide some clues to help along) the investigation of his demise.
