I have found the perfect way to blend my knowledge of ridiculous and gross songs and my job. Sing them to kids and teens at the library! Hurrah for freedom of speech and parody rights!

Today begins the first of the Ring Cycle at my library. I'm giving a brief presentation on the series and a little talk about the particular opera we're going to be showing today.

I love the fact that we work in a one-room building and even if no one watches this performance everyone's going to hear it.

So, it's official. I've created a blog for my branch of the library. There's all of one post, and I had to labor and think on what the first post should be. I opted for Emancipation day, and it's short, sweet, and linky. The color scheme matches the branch as well, which is kind of cool.

I just noticed a tiny little book on the adult non-fiction shelf entitled 52 Projects: Random acts of everyday creativityFrom the first page I was hooked. Mostly because I've been floundering in thinking about projects to do with teens here at the library, and not having a good idea about where to go to find inspiration. Well, I started February with Chinese New Year, I had someone else do story time last week, so I'm doing a Black History Month story time this week. I think it'll be good, because, well, I've got puppets. And puppets are always fun!

I got a new phone today. It's an LG sidekick kind of ripoff phone from Verizon. Good part is that I got it for about $20.00 after discounts and rebates. So, go me.
