Criminy! I've literally spent the last 3.5 hours doing nothing but cutting out the pieces for this thing. Phew! The main problem with the cutting of all of it has been that there are a bunch of little flaps (they call them peplum, plural pepla?), of which I had to cut 18 pieces, not to mention the 9 pieces of interfacing for them, the two pieces ( Read more... )

I'm making JD a teal colored pirate shirt per his request. I got everything cut out by 8:30 and the interfacing fused by 9:00 and then I got to working on it. I've got the basic form of it sewn round the collar into the lacing area over the chest and down the sides. I haven't attached sleeves or cuffs yet and haven't done final treatment.

I'm finishing up Peggy's hat tonight. I'm a little peeved because I've been working so hard on it and I spilled some ice cream on the satin, and there's a noticeable stain.
