[For anyone and everyone who has an invitation]Now that Phillipe's home was filling up with faces that Julien just basically didn't recognise, he was having second, third, forth and tenth thoughts about any sort of party. It was too late, though, and he had to like it or lump it. Phillipe knew just about everyone here on some level, as was what ( Read more... )

Jess still wasn't 100% sure why she had even decided to give in to Tom's prodding and accompany him and Tom as a fag hag in all her glory. Part of it was a desperate urge to just chill out and stop thinking about work. Only, the thought alone of being in the same room as Phillipe had fired her up, leading to Tom making an amused comment in passing that she shouldn't let him keep 'getting the upper hand'. She hadn't taken it in passing, in fact, she took it well on board, knowing he was right. It was time to try and reclaim her dignity and show Phillipe - and anyone else - that she was no fucking tits on legs.

After a brief considering, she had hit her baby brother up for a makeover, including a dramatic hair change from natural blonde to auburn. Some sexy, smoky make up and a little black dress to die for, she really felt like she was ready to take on the world. If anyone tried to fuck with her, they would find a D&G heel up their arse. She entered the party on both Tom and Stuart's arm, more than happy to be playing their fag hag ( ... )

Phillipe hadn't missed Jess' entrance. In fact he'd nearly inhaled a vol au vent as he popped it into his mouth the moment he laid eyes on the newly made over Jess. He had actually wondered at first if it was her, but there was no mistaking her features or that body. Phillipe just made sure he wasn't about to open his mouth and make a fool of himself. Again. He watched, and waited for her to get separated from Tom and Stuart, even stopping by his brother to point her out so his twin understood why he was being driven crazy by the woman.

His shirt sleeves rolled up and the silk vest still in place, Phillipe rubbed his hand over his short-cropped hair before disappearing to his bedroom for a moment, and returning with a single stemmed red rose. He made his way through the crowd, his heart pounding in his chest the closer he got to Jess ( ... )

At first, Jess didn't even make eye contact with him. She held herself well, and even though she might have had to work fucking hard to get where she was, she had learnt from the best. Even off to the left where her gaze was trained, Tom was working the crowd while Stuart had singled out a hot blond lad who was standing with a redhead. Oh shit, that was Braden, his brother. The lad Lauren had apparently dipped her tongue into for a taste of some of Scotland's finest. In fact, it was all of a minute before it seemed like the whole Evans Clan magnetised to each other. Jesus H. Chris, that much hottness in one family should be illegal. No wonder Lauren had looked in that direction for some fun ( ... )

Phillipe's eyes hadn't left Jess' face and he stood there for what seemed like agonisingly long hours before she spoke to him. And when she did, he couldn't help it if his smile slipped a bit. He shouldn't have been surprised at her keeping it civil. He looked down at his shoes before he gave a nod. "You're welcome. Very much so. He's a huge part of me, my life... I'm always lost without him. Always feels like half of me is gone when he's away."

It was rather convenient that her big sister was acting as Julien's gatekeeper. It meant Lauren could get up close and personal with Julien on the pretext of talking to her sister as well. She still felt horrible about hitting on Julien at Tesco's, the guilt eating her up inside as she clung to a Tupperware container and chewed her lip whenever her gaze flicked to the Frenchman.

Sophie eventually let out a helpless sign before kissing her sister on the forehead and excusing herself to seek out her husband. She was more than aware of Lauren's crush on the airman. She actually thought it was sweet, even if she wasn't so sure of the timing. Julien needed to be eased back into things, not whacked in the face.

Lauren almost ran after her sister when she realised she was suddenly alone with Julien, even if it had been what she wanted. She cleared her throat before holding out the Tupperware container filled with homemade Rocky Road for him. "I... I made you this."

Julien nearly ran after Sophie too, realising she had became a psuedo-safety blanket for him, and he now found himself quite starkly exposed and standing with the girl who had belted him in the face with a freezer door. In fact, his nose gaze a subtle throb just at the memory; he'd had a bruise across his cheek and down the side of his nose in the wake of it, not to mention a lingering headache. Thankfully now both had faded.

He bit the inside of his lip, trying to train himself not to act like a wanker again. He was just so rusty at all this, and uncertain about it all, too. He glanced over at where Phillipe had already zeroed in on Jess after pointing her out to him, and it was hard to believe that looking at the younger Morgan sister that night that she was related to Sophie or Lauren. He warily dipped his head to look in the box, hoping it wasn't something that would make him want to barf like cavier or salmon vol au vents. He had never been much of a seafood person, which could often be just tough shit in a rich schmoozing ( ... )

Lauren shrugged as she finally let herself smile as he started to laugh. "I wanted to. I still feel really, really bad about the smack to the nose, and my shitty, ah, timing. I was going to try and call you earlier in the week to see if you were okay, but I didn't have your number, and I felt bad about trying to find it." She pointed at the container. "I also figured you might want something homemade. I know I would if I'd been away for ages."

Julien pressed his lips together wryly with a smile. "Fresh milk is luxury to me," he said with a small shrug. "I appreciate it, I really do. For the thoughts, and this. I've been a bit of a zombie over the week, I wouldn't have been much company. I hear you have a busy schedule, anyway, so you shouldn't be wasting time thinking about the idiot in the supermarket. In fact, we should just forget about the whole thing," he said with an amused smirk.

Tag Stuart, but open for anyone else too! kissmyhaggis May 17 2010, 15:10:26 UTC
Angus took a long swig from his beer bottle and then watched Braden try to fight off a wet sneezing fit into a handful of tissues he had ninjaed from his jacket pocket. He didn't know how long his snotty little brother would last out the party, but after Stuart had all but screamed at them over the phone that they all needed to come, Braden had relented, even though he was feeling on the shittier side of crappy with the flu after chivalrously chasing his leading lady out into the rain. Angus, on the other hand, had immediately gotten suspicious, and it had lingered since then. It was nice to see both Braden and Iain with arms around their new love interests in a public setting, it meant nothing was on the hush. Stuart, on the other hand was not only looking like he spent the whole cruise burning to a crisp (making the rest of his Scottish brothers look like an undercooked haggis in comparison), Angus had honed in on something as soon as Stuart arrived with Legally Hung and Jessica Rabbit ( ... )

Stuart was a copper. He had learnt long ago how to blend in when he needed to, it went with the territory of surveillance and undercover, and he had always been effective in his job. He could even completely conceal his Scottish accent in favour of a cockney English or Irish one if he needed to. It just wasn't a very common known fact. He didn't mind being here at the party and putting in the appearance as Tom's date, but the truth was, he'd rather get a kebab and a six pack with his new fiance and chill out on the sofa watching a good movie. He'd had enough of socialising and looking the part, he wanted to let it all hang out ( ... )

Angus might have been the shortest Evans brother, but he could give as good as he got... though was often the instigator to start with. He reached up and draped his arm around Stuart's neck and gave him a squeeze. "How's my favourite wee brother doing on this fine London night, hm? You're my favourite because I'm scared Brades is gonna snot all over me if I get too close. By the way, care to tell me the wedding is, Stuarty?" he added and then grabbed Stuart's left hand, holding it up in front of both their faces where the expensive looking diamond ring was impossible to avoid. "Or have we already missed it?"

Stuart had the decency to look like a deer caught in very large headlights for a few moments, before an indignant and loud, "NO!" slipped out before he could stop it. He looked sheepishly at the nearby guests he caught the attentions of and then twisted out from under Angus' arm so he could face him.

He had to dipped down with a gasp though when Angus kept a firm hold on his wrist he would've hurt himself. "I wouldnae ever do that! Quit being a fecking bastard and make me wet my... well, I'm nay wearing any, but you know what I mean! It isnae a conspiracy!" he hissed, leaning close to Angus. "I wanted to tell you all at once, and I've been trying, but it's been impossible. Iain's been staying at Ryan's and you were at Iain's with Jules, and then Bradie fecked off to a hotel for a dirty weekend with Kenzie. Cal's back in Edinburgh, even if he managed to fly doon tonight with Karen for the party, which I really appreciate. I havenae had the chance! It's impossible to get us all together anymore!"
