I was up early this morning and decided to forgo the walk in the dark to get to the office early (7:30), since I figured I was leaving at 3 for a voice lesson. Well, it's 2 days past Christmas, the family has all headed home, and I'm at the office. It's actually been a moderately productive morning, since I'm one of the few librarians around I was able to help work through a couple of digital reference questions that had come in.

Well, Purdue extended the snow recess through Wednesday, so I didn't get back to work until this morning. Now we're trying to straighten out the mess of how people will be recording time on their time cards. So much fun ( Read more... )

Christmas day was good. Got up late, had breakfast at Mom's, got showered quickly and headed off to my Aunt's house for the rest of the afternoon. We gathered around noon, had mimosas and munchies, talked and exchanged presents. It's not so much that I'm tired, although I'm not sure I'm getting enough sleep, it's just mid-afternoon and I'm reading webpages about IRB procedures, waivers, etc. and taking short quizes to get CITI certified so I can be listed as key personel on an IRB request for stuff that is all exempt anyway! My evening rehearsal was cancelled since the conductor isn't feeling well (cold or something). Fine by me, I'd just as soon not be exposed to it and this means I have 3 hours of found time with which to tackle the article and about 6 other things that all have deadlines of either Friday or Monday and which don't feel like they're going to get done ( Read more... )
