holy crap, Bill Watterson did an interview.

Congressional Republicans vote against their own proposal in the most recent sign that their party platform really is "disagree with Obama and prevent anything from happening, ever".

ironically enough, after listening to some of the interviews Obama's given (with the BBC, etc.), i have to say that he totally strikes me as the kind of guy i would love to sit down and have a beer with. OTOH, my idea of who i would like to have a beer with is probably rather different from the previous president's target constituency.

i'm not usually much of a political junkie, but wow. the student center was showing the inauguration but without sound, so i read his address in closed captioning. it still almost brought tears to my eyes - inspiring, hopeful, visionary, but above all realistic. if he accomplishes half of what he's set out to do it'll be a victory for the state ( Read more... )
