I went to a headwear workshop in our local shire long enough to take a class in knitted flat caps. So far I have only knitted up my swatch and fulled it.. Hoping to have some free time to knit one up over the winter. I'll try to add a pic of the swatch later.

Well I have my third cold this winter. Some winters I don't get any colds, and others I will get a few. This seems to be one of those years. I get sick, stay at home and get better, feel good enough to go out and promptly catch the next cold.

The mundane world has kept me pretty busy over the holidays. Kate the Green wants me to make her a mossy green knitted cap mottled with slight tinges of forest floor. The idea being you could drop it on the ground and it would blend right in. Well, the real world (economy), the holidays, and a new kitty has put a crimp in my SCA time.  Finances are very very tight right now, so even the 40% off coupons from Hobby Lobby do me little good now. Went to a holiday craft workshop Saturday and taught Keri how to knit in the round with double pointed needles. Kept having wonderful conversations and losing count on the hat I was knitting up!  Keri said it looked like a Monmouth cap. Woo-Hoo! Tourney of the Foxes is now complete! I was so worried prior to the event about the newspaper article overloading us with Newcomers beyond our capacity, but WOW! I have to say that the newcomer Gods must have been smiling on us...
