The weather over the last week as well and truly put paid to any notion that the renovations would be finished early. The ground outside the dining room where the terrace is going to be s a swamp and far too wet to pour the slab, they expect two weeks before it will be ready, which is nearly a month after they originally planned to do it.

The master bedroom is pretty much the only room in the house that hasn't been taken over in some part by the renovations, either because of works in the rooms or stuff being stored until we get the refurbished rooms back.

So with not much else to stress about at present (re previous posts about health for both of us), we signed a contract tonight for renovations costing nearly as much as what we paid for the house approximately 12 years ago.

We've just come from the bank having signed new loan paperwork for a monster credit card to pay for renovations to our house.

Yesterday we got the quote for getting building permits for the structural components of the proposed renovations. Depending on the built cost, the list in descending order of priority looks something like:
