DA BEE

oh, no!

canada comes in second.

still and all! Well done, Finola!

we tuned in at round 9. I started to google some of the words I didn't know and got prolly more than half of them right. That damn schwa always gets me down.

if my kids ever do Bees, I'm making sure they learn Greek, Latin, Italian, French, and German starting when they're about two. Oy!
(speaking of oy, some of the words included yizkor and hechs(c)her. yesss!)

Oh, in the department of coincidences, yesterday at the Baker Street Pub, where Dad and I retreated for a pint after work (the Smithwick's draught here is surprisingly unbad, despite the waitress pronouncing both the H and the W), we ran into Aaron from LHS, who went to Ireland with us in 9th grade and bought a green guitar. Also Lara's parents! I haven't been to school with Lara since 6th grade, and haven't seen her since the last 5th-grade reunion.

Amusing and yet depressing: the news reports that all it takes to get drug dealers away from a sketchy area of a sketchy road is to play Beethoven on loudspeakers outside. ABC News says so.

Zach got a blackberry green tea Frappuccino tonight. It's amazing.
Anyone know if the mint mocha Fraps are still around? Loved those more than sliced bread.

on the plate tomorrow: getting a new, horizontal, 21-year-old driver's licence -- under-21s are vertical. visit to Nance. some Clay time around lunch. and I really, really will go to the gym. I just couldn't tonight, because of the bee. Sunday will be exciting, too: a day with Clay and Jo! Farmer's market at Belmar, then Bodyworlds at the museum, followed by a session.

on the other side...

Tomorrow may be one of the last times we see Nancy. yesterday her friend updated her webpage with a message that said, in essence, I love you all and please don't be sad.

it may not be the best next few days.

nancy, drinks, funny stuff, friends, coincidences, to do, bee
