I kinda don't blame Helen for hooking up with James.

If the love of your life (and perfect dream man) goes a bit psycho and runs off to murder some people, thus leaving you on your lonesome... it's probably a good idea to keep yourself occupied for a bit with the handsome and equally as lonely Best Friend. Especially as he shares all her interests and is happy to acknowledge that Helen Is The HBIC.

Helen can only EVER be with The Five. It makes no sense whatsoever for her to be shagging YOUNG PEOPLE who just don't get what Immortality means and don't appreciate your centuries of experience.
It makes absolutely zero sense, in fact. Even Amanda has said so in interviews!

I think Syfy must have deemed that Heyerdahl and Queen T kissing was too pornographic for television and would automatically require an R rating. HENCE WHY IT ONLY HAPPENED ON THE WEBISODES.

But less attractive people like Will are allowed to snog every female guest star they can find.

And to be quite honest, if in "Helen's Perfect Dream World" where she's shacked up with John there ISN'T marital kissing... I will be forced to deem the entire episode invalid as having no sense of genuine realness in the writing or direction. END OF.

The Helen/Will just makes NO SENSE AT ALL and to be frank, is a little bit gross.
If Amanda herself screws up her face when people mention Helen/Will shippiness because Helen bounced Toddler Will on her knee when he was TINY... then you just know how wrong it is.

Helen can only be in a justifiable relationship (even a casual one) with someone who can understand her, empathise with her, know her

It feels so much of the time like the show is about Will... that Will is the lead, not Helen.

Sometimes I wonder if he really is and I just didn't realise!!

It's just very frustrating isn't it. Sometimes Will has these moments of brilliance and I remember why I loved him in early season one... and then he gets naked, shags some skank, and steals people's food.

Hey, just popping in to say I agree with this entire conversation about Will's development post-season one. My comment under this one is kind of weirdly flaily, but basically I thought I was alone in disliking/hating what happened to Will's character because I only ever meet Helen/Will shippers and Will lovers (sort of; they just don't really see the bad) but now I know I'm not alone and I love it!

To be fair though, disliking/hating (let's be honest here, it's more the latter than the former) what's happened to Will's character is a REALLY REALLY unpopular opinion in Sanctuary fandom, and most of the tie it warrants a lynch mob being sent after you.

I only feel vaguely safe ranting on my own lj, and ranting here, because yo i'm The Mod so if someone kicks off at me bout it, I'LL KICK OFF AT THEM RIGHT BACK and be well within my rights to.

It's sad to see that Helen/Will shippers seem to be the VAST MAJORITY of online Sanctuary fandom. Especially when not only is John/Helen and now Helen/James COMPLETELY CANON, but Amanda 'Queen T' Tapping herself says that JOHN IS HELEN'S TRUE ETERNAL LOVE AND THE ONE SHE'LL ALWAYS LOVE AND HELEN/WILL HOOKING UP WOULD BE KINDA GROSS.

The way all of fandom idolises Amanda, you'd think her word would be GOSPEL LAW.

Oh no, I try to keep myself safe by never saying anything about Will when I'm in other places. I feel pretty safe here though seeing as it's a John/Helen comm, and finding other people who feel the same way made me want to speak out and say, I'm part of that tiny, little group as well. But yeah, I've recognized that it's a very, very unpopular opinion but that's where I tend to live in fandoms. I'm used to it.

I approve of your Abuse of Power though. I'd do it. ;)

Um, well I ship Cordelia/Angel, which is like HUGE unpopular opinion in the Buffyverse. I also ship Wesley/Lilah and Buffy/Spike
