Round two was a success! for you up this late your probly all going "WTF!?" at me for staying up and baking, but I"m sure the people coming in the AM will laugh too.

But I have found it! this is it! This is as close to it as I've tasted! I should have doubled the pepper :( and used real spices not dollar store pumpkin pie spice :(

I was planning on making this spelt bread recipe, and I thought I had molasses but evidently I was wrong. I did a couple searches and found that I could sub 3/4 cup brown sugar for one cup molasses. I was wondering if any one had any other ideas for a substitute for molasses...or if brown sugar would be my best bet. I don't have enough honey, ( Read more... )

I wanna make this ganache recipe. I know that one ~can~ substitute molasses for corn syrup, but do you think it would be a good idea in this particular case?

I wanted to make molasses-ginger cookies the other day, so I looked at the recipe for molasses cookies in Joy of Cooking, and then proceeded to make up my own. It turned out quite tasty, crispy and crunchy and just a bit chewy in the centers. They have a nice, rich molasses-ginger flavor, but nothing overpowering ( Read more... )
