This was my second attempt at making French Macarons. The first attempt turned out quite well, but there were still things that I wanted to tweak, such as the filling and I wanted more lift in the cookie. This time around we used chocolate ganache instead of jam for the filling. It turned out great. I used Martha Stewart's recipe both times.

 Today marked my first attempt to make French Macarons. They definitely turned out much better than I expected and were delicious. We even achieved the feet. Definitely need to keep trying to get the tops a little bigger, but I think this was a fairly successful first attempt.

 seriously, i am going to make these things until i get them right!!!

i made them for the first time the weekend before christmas using this recipe. i made my own almond meal by grinding almonds in my food processor for quite some time and them letting them dry out in the oven for a while. the cookies didn't really flatten out when i piped them, so ( Read more... )

This was my very first time making Macarons. Although they did not come out perfect, I am very proud of the end result. I used David Lebovitz's recipe and was so happy to see feet when they came out of the oven. Yay me! I used Nutella as the filling. Needless to say, they were gone within five minutes no thanks to my 15 year old son.
