iron deficiancy

Jan 18, 2007 18:21

I've noticed an increasing problem with my diet. There is absolutely none, if any meat included in it anymore. Partly it's because I live with someone who is vegetarian and I feel like I should cook things we can both eat, however, it's mostly because it's so expensive. I'm in college and just moved out on my own. I tried to get some chicken breasts tonight and they were like $12.99! What are some meals I can make using (cheap) meat that tastes good and can also be vegetarian easily? Normally I wouldn't mind not eating meat, but I feel really sick and tired all of the time. I'm severely anemic and my intake of iron is really low, especially because of this. I hate tofu, so that is out of the question. I would also like some suggestions for iron sufficient foods that taste yummy. I'm not going to just eat a pile of spinach. And supplements give me a terrible stomach ache. Here's something I made recentely so this post isn't completely pointless.
