Tomorrow I drive to Ealing. I have a seminar on how to us supevision from 18:30 until 21:30, then I'm going to dinner with some of the trainees from msc1 and 2, and then on Saturday morning I start my second year of training to become a Gestalt Psychtherapist. I've already arranged for a placment in Birmingham, working in a GP surgery, I have my first supervision hour next weekend and by the end of this month I may have started seeing my first client. This is actually happening isn't it?
The is realy the first year of training. Last year was a fundamental year which gave us all a grounding in Gestalt, but this year is the first year of the real masters. I'm really REALLY excited and rather anxious too. Anxcitment :P Apparently this year is the biggest step up in training and workload as we need to se clients and a supervisor in addition to everything we had to do last year PLUS extra reading.
I don't know what's happening about my training group yet. There were 13 of us at the start of last year and 12 in the other fundamentals goup, and there are around 8 of us continuing plus about the same from the other group, so we're looking at maybe 16. Now cut off for a group s 18, so if w have a couple of additional people join us that'll take us over the limit and they'll have to run two MSc1 classes, which is unprecedented. I guess we'll find out on Saturday morning at the community meeting.
Whatever happens I'm so pleased to be going back to Met, and to be meeting with everyone again. I've really missed some people over the sumer, and it'll be sad that some people won't be there this year, but it'll be joyous (for me) because of those that will be.
