I use these primarily for character portraits, which is why "most of the clothes seem designed for early 21st century teenagers" is a disadvantage and "access to tiny pixel sniper rifles" is an advantage.

I make a lot of character portraits with online dollmakers. Mostly I do my own OCs or my friends' RP characters, but sometimes I do things like this.

I actually like the tektek.org chibi avatar maker better than the Candybar page in some ways for making character designs. There aren't quite so many options, unfortunately, but there's more stuff suitable for characters who aren't late 20th-early 21st century young people, and I really appreciate the wider variety of skin colors ( Read more... )
