Saturday
Wedding dress shopping day! Those of you on the Wedding filter have already read this, but, holy cow did I have fun. I was dreading it somethin' fierce but it was far more than I anticipated. And I walked out having purchased my dress, and I'm madly in love with it. I feel like a romantic princess. There was a close-second place dress, but the one I walked away with just felt more... me. And it was unanimous among Mom, Kim, Toni and
serendipitymyst that the one I got was it.
The best picture of the day was not of me, but of
Lauren. My cousin... the goof. She didn't get the dress, but it was still funny.
After shopping we went to lunch at Seaside (the crab melt sucked, don't get it) and then swung by Willow Oak Florist hoping to pick up the price list they told me they had and... couldn't find. They are far too disorganized for me to feel confident in hiring them, so that's another "no" in the possible vendors column. Ah well, worth a shot.
Then it was back to Mom's to hang out, upload dress photos and chat. I headed home, got stuck in 25 minutes of non-movement at the tunnel, and then spent 20 minutes in the drive-thru at Taco Bell because Ed was craving it. This is the same place where I sat for 35 minutes two days prior. I am never, ever, going there again.
Mia missed Mommy somethin' fierce and was clingy when I got home. She fought going to bed, but once she was asleep, stayed asleep. I watched three episodes of Queer As Folk and crashed.
Sunday
Mia woke me at 7. Ugh.
We played, ate breakfast, read the same books four times, etc. I took her upstairs to see if Ed needed to get up for plans I thought he had, but instead we all played in bed for awhile. Mia went down for a nap around 10:30 and slept until 12:30, during which time I polished off Voyager. Time to request the next in the series!
Once Mia was up and we were all prettied, we loaded up and went off to Bonefish Grill for a late lunch/early dinner. Ed wanted PF Chang's but they're still too new to not have a wait, no matter the time of day. If it were just he and I, 35 minutes wouldn't be a big deal, but we have to keep her entertained for that 35 minutes and then through the meal. That's just not going to happen.
So Bonefish it was, to my delight, since I really like the place. We had a Bang Bang shrimp appetizer and I had the Alaskan Duo meal, a special of the day. It was tempura-battered charr (char? a fish similar to salmon, apparently) with an Asian glaze sauce and imperial-style wolf fish stuffed with crab and shrimp almondine, and potatoes au gratin. I ate half of my meal and took the rest home so that I could have key lime pie. Nom nom.
Back at home Mia was tired again, so down she went for a nap while Ed and I vegged. They're now upstairs working through a stack of books before she goes down for bedtime, which I anticipate her fighting wholeheartedly. I have two more episodes (I think?) of Queer As Folk left on my disc to watch tonight, and it's back to the real world tomorrow.
