Man. Children of Men is an intense, harsh, brutal movie, especially when you're sitting in the front row in a pretty big theatre. I'm still sort of decompressing.
It's the end of the world, depicted as the natural progression (with one big catalyst) of the nastiness we see today, revealed in a two hour handicam assault. This movie made me feel so tired and sad and anxious and just overwhelmed that I felt like I'd been beaten about the head.
So, go see it.
There is such finese and dedication in this thing. The creators brought all the wits and guts needed to deliver something heavy without it becoming cheap or overwrought.
