Popular pairings of people/characters that do not fit into Hollywood's idea of "pretty people"?
I do realize people have different taste for what is "hot" but it can't be denied that many actors will never be the lead characters because they're not hot or pretty enough for Hollywood. And still we ship them because they have chemistry, are interesting or just plain adorable in their awkward, totally not suave relationship. Like, f.ex. Pacific Rim's Newt and Hermann. Good pairing, great characters but not exactly Hollywood's golden boys.

[ETA. Also, really pretty people that you would think would be ideal to pair up in fic but are actually not popular because they are perceived more as friends than lovers? I would say Elementary's Holmes and Watson but I'm not actually in that fandom so I don't know, maybe they are popular as a pairing?]
