I've been so bad about drawing lately.  I think I've just been going at it too quickly and not thoughtfully enough and everything comes out crappy and boring.  So I made myself sit still and use pen.  It doesn't really look like him, and I didn't think about the hatching very much, but I think the attitude is there.  I finished ( Read more... )

A bit of 11.  Sort of.  I had no references and haven't drawn in forever.

"City Lights", finished.  Tweaked the expressions (more blind and more whoa, she's blind!)  and b&w added.   For serious, watch this movie.  It's funny, it's heartbreaking, and it has one of the most amazing, moving endings I've ever seen.

Chaplin's "City Lights".  The peak of romantic comedies.  Trying for the moment the Tramp realizes the cute flower girl is blind.  She mistakes him for a rich man, he keeps up the ruse.  Etc, etc.  If the ending doesn't make you tear up you're dead inside!  I need to tweak some things before coloring  grayscaling.

I think I'm too dependent on the 'stach when drawing Watson, so I tried getting him down without it.  Not too sure, but this was the best shot.  I think he's to iconic a character to play with appearance too much.   (Besides it's a lot more realistic to make him fit and hot than it is fat and doddering.)
