Sunday, 26 April 2020: A Quiet Sunday

Apr 26, 2020 18:53

Right now all my days are quiet, but today was exceptionately quiet. I got up, showered, talked to my sister Debbie, had breakfast, then read "Escape," by Carolyn Jessop until I finished it at 5:00 p.m. Having done nothing but sit since I got out of bed, I felt strongly the need to stretch my legs even though the day was overcast. The outside temperature was 50F and the flags on the Parkway were only fluttering so it didn't seem too windy, but I decided to err on the side of caution and put on my Gore jacket over my cardigan. Good move, FanSee. It was more than overcast, it was raining.

I was very happy to have on a rain-resistant jacket with a hood.

I just made one quick circuit of the U-shaped drive that connects all four apartment buildings: West, South, East, and North. My step total before my walk was 54, so I was surprised, and pleased, when my total was 1,025 when I got home. I'm not convinced that the step counter on my phone is completely accurate...my steps seem to jump up in batches rather than smoothly...but it's still encouraging seeing the count increase.

I'm glad I had enough self-discipline to spend a few minutes outdoors and get in touch with Nature. The longer days help. I would never have done so in February. FanSee
