At least once a week the residents of Park Towne Place get a newsletter. All the recent newsletters, for at least the last month, have included this:
· Please continue actively practicing the basics of Covid-19 defense as set out in the CDC guidelines on health and hygiene, including:
o Please be considerate and practice appropriate social distancing by keeping at least six feet between yourself and others.
· This includes elevators and dog parks.
· Wait until an empty elevator arrives or take the stairs.
. It is recommended that you wear a mask when leaving your apartment home, for any reason.
· DO NOT use your feet to push elevator buttons.
· Wait until other residents have left the park or keep a safe distance from them.
Did you laugh? I do, every time I read it.
I failed to go outdoors and walk yesterday, ending up with only 956 steps, all indoors. Even so, that wasn't as bad as Tuesday, when my total was 614 steps. Today was the best day of the week, with 2,606 steps. I did have to sit down and rest twice to make that distance, but today it wasn't fatigue, it was lower back pain. If I slouch at all, my damn back aches, and slouching is my natural stance. Straighten up and fly right, FanSee!
Many, many Park Towne Placers were out and about today not, I think, because it was the weekend, but because it was the nicest weather we've had this week. The sun shone, the sky was blue, and the breeze was just right to make exercising comfortable.
The official name for this area is the 'the greens' which I find a little pretentious but, as you can see, people do tend to congregate there. The footballers in the foreground appear to live there; those two are almost always out kicking around a ball whenever I go out.
The tulips in all the raised flower beds are getting a bit raggedy:
Page down on my April 7th entry, and you will see the tulips at their best. I am interested to see what they are replaced with.
What we called 'bridal bouquets' in Fayetteville, Arkansas, are blooming now. I'm sure that's not their real name, and most brides would find them skimpy.
When I moved from my house on Lombard Street to here, one of the things that made me sad was leaving my little garden behind.
I truly did love it and fussed over it and enjoyed seeing my plants thrive and grow, but I don't miss it the way I thought I would. Having the Park Towne Place grounds outside my door is a lot less work and provides me with much more variety to enjoy. FanSee
