Monday, 27 April 2020: Another day, another (short) walk

Apr 27, 2020 20:02

Today I managed 2,159 steps, 20% less than Saturday's 2,606 steps but a little more than double yesterday's total. I do think my stamina was a little better, but I still slouched badly enough that I had to sit down for a few minutes to get my head, back, and butt back in alignment.

The route I walked today ran alongside I-676:

I believe that the amount of traffic you see here on I-676 is an increase from last week, but it's still far less than normal. Usually those cars would be bumper to bumper. I-676 runs alongside the grounds of Park Towne Place on the east-west axis, and you can always hear the grumble of traffic when you are close to the highway, even now with the lighter than usual traffic.

Here I am with my mask, as I got back from my walk:

The eye on the right in the picture...which is actually my left eye...is the eye that was operated on two years ago. During the operation, corneal tissue was grafted to my cornea. To do that, the surgeon tacked my upper and lower eyelids open and, in doing so, broke down the muscles...they must be teeny tiny...in my upper lid. That's why my left eye no longer opens as widely as my right eye. On the other hand, before the graft, everything I saw through the left eye was blurry. With my 'good' eye closed, all I could make out was shapes; no detail. Now my vision in that eye is 20/20 vs. 20/40 in the 'good' right eye. (I've had cataract surgery in both eyes and have permanent lenses in both eyes, so both eyes are a tribute to ophthalmic surgery.)

I have to put prednisone drops in my left eye every day for the rest of my life to prevent rejection. For reasons that I don't at all understand, that annoys me every day. FanSee
