Ami came in and looked around. She did not see anyone she knew there yet.

"Ami," River whispered from behind the couch. The hairdresser was looking oddly at her.

River startled ami who made a little yelping noise.

"River! you scared me. Why are you behind the couch?"

Evie came in, excited about hair things. Yay!

She looked around for other people, then frowned. "Hmm. First one here, I think..."

River was still hiding behind the couch. She recognised Evie and whispered: "No, I was first."

Evie blinked, and looked around. She could swear she heard something aside from chatter from the haircutters and the receptionist. "Hello?" She looked behind a potted palm then over by the couch. "River?"

River gave her a wide eyed, worried look. "Nails. Strange colours."

Getting the hair done

"Ok, i will go first, cause, date." She walked to the hair stylist lady, acting much much braver then she felt. "Ma'am, would it be possible to get my hair washed and curled in waves like this picture?" she pointed to a model on the wall who had loose curls.

She turned to River. "Want to keep me company?"

"...Remind me again why I agreed to do this?" Turtle asked, clutching her braid. Clutching it very, very tightly.

"Wanting to be heroic?" River suggested. "You could get new claws instead."

Turtle blinked at River, frowning. "What do I need claws for?"

River pointed at the nailvarnish. "So that you can paint them."

Dawn poked her head in, then the rest of her followed. "Hello? Is this the right place?"

River looked up and nodded seriously. "It is. No hiding behind couches."

"I'll keep that in mind," Dawn nodded just as seriously. "But I'm more of a hide from the crazy shopping sister kind of person. This is usually kind of fun."

"Yes," River said, not looking quite convinced. "Should I colour my hair?" She held out a strand of her hair for inspection.
