Turtle spread out her hand and looked at her stubby, nibbled fingernails. She then presented them to River. "I'll just paint these, I think. I might be unwittingly dangerous with fake nails."

Turtle's head tilted as she considered. "What would you color it? It's already a really nice color, but maybe some red highlights would look cool. Or something. I know nothing about hair, really."

"Red." River closed her eyes, trying to imagine herself with red hair. All she could think of was Turtle with blue hair. She frowned. "Don't go for blue."
