Today has SUCKED. First of all, we aren't going to get that grant -- the leader has like 900 votes and we have 200 that I busted my ass to get. No way we are going to win, so not only do we not have $1000, but I bugged every person I know for no reason. I am not made for the heat. Sleeping is hard usually but way more so when it was 100 actual degrees today. I also have bad sleep hygiene, compounding the problem. Plus side: I am in a hammock.

Tonight, I discovered my new favorite place in Merida. It is called Cairo Cinema Cafe. It is a cafe/movie rental place (brilliant combination) that also shows FREE MOVIES every night! So apparently, they do have free cone day in Mexico (feliz Día del Cono Gratis, everyone!), but there's no Ben and Jerry's in Merida. Efffffff. I may buy some ice cream, but 1) it's not the same and 2) I'd have to, you know, pay for it.

I might explode if I don't bake something soon. I don't want the baked item (although of course I wouldn't turn it down), I just need to bake something. I have been taunting myself with food blogs for the last few days and I just need to bake. Doing reading is EVEN MORE BORING in Spanish and in subjects you're not interested in! I am pretty sure 20 pages on the historical and sociological perspectives of Max Weber (and that's 20 pages in a 90 page reading, by the way) would be boring in English, but it is way worse and slower in Spanish.
