Melting

I used this icon because I WISH it was cold even if then there would be wolves after me. It has been over 100 for the last four days and will be pretty much until I leave. I am melting. But I whine too much on this here journal so here are some good things:

1) Mangoes. I love mangoes the most. I just had one for dinner. Lunch was cheese empanadas but it is now so hot that I feel like I would throw up if I ate one. They were good at lunch!

2) Hammocks, specifically, the one in my room. It is so comfortable. I wish I could have a hammock inside in the US, but usually the walls don't have hammock hooks.

3) I went on a cenote tour on Sunday. We went to three cenotes (well I only went to two because one of them had a terrifying ladder) and it was so cool and nice. The water in cenotes is ridiculously clear. This is the ladder I did not climb down:

I think that was a good life decision.

4) I only have 9 more days before I'm done with school! I got out of finals week by conveniently planning my vacation then (in my defense, I tried to ask when the class ended and ended up asking when do classes end), so I don't have to do either of the presentations. Downside, I do have to write an extra paper instead of an exam. But also, my Semiotics class is canceled next week so we can work on our projects and my Social Theory class is canceled because the professor is busy and has been rescheduled for a time I have another class, so I don't have to go! I only have 4 more actual classes left and two of them are Mayan class! One of them is an exam, but whatever!

5) Speaking of vacation, in 10 days I'm leaving for Isla Mujeres! I am so freaking excited. I'm going with three other girls from my program and we are going to read and be on the beach and watch Jane Austen movies while eating mangoes and guacamole. I mean, not guacamole on the mangoes, that would be a horrible idea. I am pretty sure, although I should double check, that our hotel has air conditioning. FUCK YES.

6) I get to go home in 18 days! WOO HOO!

hot, good day, mexico, college, food
