It was not a good weekend. We had hoped to go to Santa Cruz, for beachy fun, but both EM Jr and Mr Macaroni were feeling unwell. Saturday wasn't ghastly (EM Jr had a late but normal nap and survived a trip out for Japanese food). Sunday was miserable. The poor kid was whiny and felt awful. I think I was suffering from a case of food poisoning yesterday because I'm better now. I spent most of the day in bed. By the end of the day, I was able to eat a half slice of pizza. This morning, I had a light breakfast of english muffins with jam & OJ. I'm currently sipping on some coffee & hoping really hard that I stay well.

It's hard to believe that my kid is now a big 3-year old, but here we are. ( medical appointment: still small, blood tests came out normal )

The husband is lighter by one gall bladder, is resting comfortably (after posting to Facebook, natch).

It's unofficial: gall stones. The ultrasound technician probably isn't supposed to be telling patients what she sees but in this case it's just confirming what Mr EM suspected. What It All Means will have to wait on the doctor's call, hopefully later this afternoon.

The ER sent him home Saturday night with advice to take some anti-gas pills & eat bland foods. The pain, which had subsided to manageable levels at the ER, never did go away and the pills / bland diet didn't work. So he got an appointment at the hospital today. I seem to be getting the hang of my job. Little by little I seem to be mastering the tasks & the concepts. It's not easy stuff, but at least I am The Expert in some things ... so much so that today I got a call from the technician on duty.
