Woohoo, apparently I'll be having a very White Christmas! WI has gotten almost a foot of snow and more is predicted before I fly in. AGU has been busy, fun, and loooong. I'll try to remember some of the highlights.

Yesterday started of stressful as I misjudged how long it would take to finish my Tohban report. I got up at 9 to run and try to do laundry before my trip to Berkeley and planned to get the report done by ~12 when we talked about beaching (since it had to be in by 3) but everything took longer than expected. Let's see..after Austria...was a lot of work to catch up on...Jenni's best friend Nicole was visiting the weekend I got back so we all went out to eat at CPK. I'm overdue an actual update. Last weekend, a bunch of us got all psyched up to go for a kayaking trip through UCLA's marina...but when we tried to sign up, the class was full. So we made other plans instead!

My tax rebate came in! I feel so rich now! :-P I guess there's something cool about them taking it, holding on to it for you, and then giving it all back...Cuz you mold your life around how much you are actually given on pay day, but then suddenly you get this huge direct deposit into your bank account and it's like having extra money ( Read more... )

I would just like to say that I sang karaoke for real tonight at the grad bar--twice! The first time I sang solo: Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson. It was great--the crowd was singing along, swaying to the music...and...my mic wasn't on...and...I couldn't figure out what was wrong with it and how to fix it!!! Today we went WHALE WATCHING for Kate's birthday! It was so fun to be out on a boat, and almost instantly after leaving the harbor we found some California grey whales. We followed them up the coast and then they stopped to clean themselves so we just sat there awhile and watched, took photos, and were visited by a multitude of dolphins! I'll ( Read more... )

Yesterday I took off work so Mike and I could visit the Getty Center. It was breath-taking! We easily hopped on the 761 metro and it dropped us off right in front of it. Then we took the tram up.
