Guys.. I'm just... I don't even know anymore.
Bullet points:
+ Colonoscopy/endoscopy happened. The prep was far worse than the event- Well.... the second round of prep was the worst part. First dose went down perfectly fine. But that second dose..... Dear and fluffy CHUCK, it was bad. D:
-- Colon was clear, which doesn't explain the trouble I've been having since December. But it's clear.
-- signs of pre-ulcers all over my stomach, which isn't shocking.. Though, I will say I'm surprised they're only PRE, what with all the stress from this job and life, etc.
Waiting on an actual call from the doctor for a final diagnosis.. but it looks like whatever's the problem isn't anything gut-related.
+ the work environment is getting so toxic that even Batman villains would steer clear.
+ I (once again) want to try NaNo. I always have the intention to go for it -- not to mention the plots already plotted -- but then nothing happens. Maybe I can at least get some smaller stories out. I had a great idea for a Voyager AU... but after the dust-up on Discord, I kinda just don't even want to touch it.
I've been through too many LJ fandom wars, yo. /GTFOffmylawn
+ The adventure into quilting is both a mess and dangerous. I've now registered for TWO block of the month events (only bought the back material for the one, because NONE of it is cheap); and I've bought WalMart (gasp) fabric for a weekly FREE block project from the same company; and I bought more WalMart (gasp) fabric for a daily free block for October, for breast cancer awareness.
This is the super fancy one I signed up for first, with no prior quilting knowledge or experience past the entire library of ManSewing on YouTube. This is also the one I paid for the back fabric.
This is the one I signed up for, last night. Not gonna lie - it's all because of the color scheme. 100%
This one doesn't cost nearly as much, but I also did not add the borders or backing kits. The backing I can probably add on, after the fact, once my fun money fund is built up again. Maybe
This is the free weekly one. I got a really cool pack of pre-cut fabric to use for the squares (their one-day sales are dangerous LOL), and then I bought straight white for the accent from WalMart (gasp). I haven't started it yet, because I'm still working on the basic one, for practice (below)
This one is the daily; and this one I bought all at WalMart (gasp). Love these colors, but not the cost of their kit. But for as much as quilting folks knock WalMart fabric (and Joanns), there's a hell of a selection.
And this is the super-easy(ish) started one that I'm currently working on. Again, for as much as everyone knocks WalMart, I'd sure as %*@) rather make all the mistakes on the $1 fabric than the $30 fabric.
If you have seen the photos over on FB, you've seen this disaster in progress XD If you haven't,
SEE THE DISASTER IN PROGRESS I also bought some Georgia Tech fabric, to make a blanket for my cousin. Her first semester isn't going well, but I'm having a terrible time finding gold fabric that comes even close. I found a sort-of gold that I don't like, but I'm out of options. SIGH.
+ Stig is full of baby spiders. Unknown where they came from, but the plan for tomorrow is to hit the car wash and give him a good cleaning. Also getting a good vacuum for the cars, because the gas station ones are sketchy. Hopefully I can find an outlet somewhere at the bottom of the stairs LOL
+ I have So. Many. Landcomm. Entries to do. And I owe so many banners for icon challenges.
+ Okay, I think that's all for now. Work beckons.....
+ I need a taco.......
