All right. I finally have a Definitive Opinion™ on the ending. While I don't want to be like some people (*cough* CHUD.com *cough*) and say "THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT NOLAN INTENDED OMG EVERYONE ELSE IS WRONG" I do think that Nolan provided plenty of telltale details and clues that lend weight to this particular interpretation above the others.
