Oh my frell. I cannot stop listening to Sonata Arctica. I... think I may be in love. Be still, my heart, at these ungodly levels of bombast! Let it be known that overblown theatrical rock music + lots of synths and keyboards + someone singing their heart out about cracktastic scenarios always = WIN in the Book of Ali.
Speaking of... my personal favorite Lords of Bombast are in the studio recording their fifth studio album, and they're
twittering! I think it's Dom doing most of the picture-taking. Hello, friends! I love how
normal and uncoiffed Matt looks: such a contrast with his stage persona. And it's so good to see the Manson(s) out again. Sigh.
Anyway. Luke and I are taking off for San Francisco tonight! BOOYAH. We're catching a quick, cheap flight out of Long Beach. So stoked. It'll be a brief vacation (back on Monday night), but much-needed. And appropriate, as it's Valentine's weekend and SF is where Luke
popped the question a year and a half ago... man, have I been living on fast-forward or something?
We'll be alternating our stay with his two lovely sisters, and visiting one of our good friends who abandoned us for moved to the Bay a couple years back. The time will be too short with all of them, as it always is. But one thing's for sure: we'll be eating lots of incredible food, as my oldest sister-in-law is a bit of a freelance SF food critic, and is always scoping out new deliciousness in the city. Yeah, we'll be in dire need of the gym upon our return... but if you ask me, it ain't a real vacation unless it creates that particular fallout. ;)
Hopefully, I'll be having such a grand old time that I won't even think about the fact that I'm missing T:SCC's return tomorrow (and, of course, the premiere of Dollhouse)... yeeahh. I'll be Internet-free, at least, so spoilers won't be a temptation. Meep!
Have a wonderful V-Day and beyond, all!
