Oh my frell. I cannot stop listening to Sonata Arctica. I... think I may be in love. Be still, my heart, at these ungodly levels of bombast! Let it be known that overblown theatrical rock music + lots of synths and keyboards + someone singing their heart out about cracktastic scenarios always = WIN in the Book of Ali ( Read more... )

Ali! It's been several months (or, at least, so it seems) and I thought it's time to check back on your LJ. I'm starting here, but I'll probably be commenting on a couple posted prior to this as well ( ... )

Jeremy! It has been forever. Thanks so much for stopping by!

SF is about an 8-hour drive from Orange County, which is why a cheap flight (they start at $50 or $60 on certain airlines) is worth it to consolidate time, especially if it's just an extended weekend trip when you don't have much time anyway. And thank you! It was absolutely wonderful. I'm feelin' rejuvenated.

I haven't had gotten the chance to watch Dollhouse yet, but after hearing about all the politics that went on behind the scenes with FOX and Whedon, I'm willing to let it simmer for a few episodes before I judge it straight out. Reportedly, the pilot got reworked a dozen and one times (FIrefly flashbacks, much?) and that might really cripple the show from the get-go. I hope it survives long enough to find its legs.

But I must admit that right now, I'm caring about the future of Terminator a whole lot more. I don't know what I'll do if that show goes off the air! It's so damn good right now ( ... )

They have new EP? Out NOW?! This I did not know!

I'm glad you had a good SF vacation. I wouldn't drive eight hours if it could be avoid either.

I just got back from seeing Push in the theater. I don't know if I'd call it "good", but I liked it! Well, except for the ending; that left something to be desired. But it's different - it's like a comic book style action flick filmed and directed by the people who did Lost in Translation. The cinematography, music, and even a few scenes in general all smelled of indie film production to me. But anyway, yeah, I like it.
