      With everyone home on Sundays, that's the day when we tend to get most "around the house" sort of stuff done.  One of the most important things that needed doing, was to move the new gas stove we bought in Calgary from its temporary storage in the shop to the house.  That was easier said than done, since we got a lot of snow in the last month ( Read more... )

     It was darn cold, that's for sure, and it's getting colder!  With the windchill, it's down around -31°c outside this morning!  Brrrrrrrrr!!!!  Worse, it's only going to get even colder, but there's supposed to be a warming trend bringing us back up to a balmy -1°c by the weekend.  We'll see...

     Here's hoping all you Dads and Daddy-Types had a great Father's Day!  I spent most of the day getting that blasted floor finished in the Living Room, but at last it's DONE!!   Well, mostly done, about 99% done...  All that's left (for that room) is to put new base-boards around the room, and it will be 100% done.  Looks pretty darn good for ( Read more... )

     I spent another six hours or more working on the floor in the living room today.  It's about 85% complete now, and I should be able to finish it with another three or four hours of work.  I'm certain that a professional could do it a lot faster, and likely would have finished the job a long time ago.  I'm no professional though, so it gets ( Read more... )
