One of the biggest problems in sci-fi is coming up with a plausible way to have alien species talk to each other without long and tedious classes where people actually sit down and learn the stupid language. Some asshat on the ComicGenesis webboard accused Kanira Baxter of being a Mary-Sue, which, frankly, I took exception to. Actually, he didn't just say she was a Mary-Sue, he said she was an OBVIOUS Mary-Sue/.
