Oh boy. I've been gone from LJ for a while. Sorry I've been neglecting all my LJ acquaintances. Summary of my thoughts below.

1)  Today I was pleased to learn that South Dakota has voted to get rid of the abortion ban and that Arizona has said no to a gay marriage ban in their constitution.  It means things aren't as polarized as I feared and that folks who call themselves the religious right will not be able to stick their grabby little hands into things which are none ( Read more... )

The Democrats now have control of the House.  Still waiting to hear on the Senate.

I haven't been pleased with what Republicans did with the place, but what exactly do Democrats plan to bring to the table?  I'm afraid their only recommendations sound like bad slogans.
