Arashi Fic Recs

Did this because of a few who wanted to know what kind of thing I read. I'd like to believe that I read fic more often than read lessons/topics relevant in my life. So this list was made because I have read too much, and I liked a lot of them. If fics have ❤ on them that means I loved it to bits.

And you have no idea how many times LJ ate this fucking entry. I don’t understand why it bitches out whenever you switch from html to Rich Text. You do that, click Save Entry, and it deletes it. I swear I hate that damn goat with the trash bin. I’m going to kill the goat the next time I see it. Or put it in the trash bin and incinerate it. Either way, it's going to die.

OTP. Hence, I read a lot of fic with these two, but what are here are the ones that blew my mind. If I quoted something, it really stuck to me, that's what it means.

AU:
The Lost by astrangerenters and katmillia

• This has to be the fic that's leading my list of favorites. Just amazingly done. Has Ohno/Nino, Aiba/Becky, Toma/Kato Ai.
• Sequels: The Lost: Redux and Wolf at the Door
• Bonus AU of the AU: Butterfly Squashed and Butterfly Flew. And even more bonuses on the comm itself.

5 and 1/2 Minute Hallway by lifeinthebox ❤

• This is just... I read this wondering, "What the hell happened?" and when I found out, I was reduced to this crying mess. That's how good it was.

We Blaze Away by astrangerenters

• First AU I read in my life and thus left a big impression on me.
• You know, just read whatever wrote. You won't regret a single thing. I find myself liking even the weirdest pairings in her work. She's very talented.

The Third Man by astrangerenters

• America didn't bow to anyone. and "Like a little pond, Sho-chan."
• Bonus Jun/Nino and Sho/Nino friendship.

Andiamo by bubbly

• After Arashi, my life is split to Johnny Depp, One Piece, Indiana Jones, and Sherlock Holmes. This is Sherlock Holmes + Arashi = two of my loves and that would explain it.
• Bonus pairings include: Jun/Toma, Nino/Kame, Aiba/Becky, and a painfully hot threesome of Sho/Jun/Toma.

The Folding Water We Carry by miscetera

• I was forever your secretary.
• I think the covers for Meikyuu Love Song will be very helpful for the image.

Co-existing by maibachan ❤

• Sho and Jun have never met, but that hasn't stopped them from falling for each other.
• Seriously, you can't resist that^, can you?

70 Percent by satsumatsu

• "I don't like it when feelings interfere with work."
• Basically a good AU with bonus Ninomiya.

Roanoke's Curse by katmillia

• Historical AU with suspense.
• I suggest you read her Sakumoto. She has written a lot of good Sakumoto.

To Sensei with Love by astrangerenters

• There's only one character I love in this. The janitor.

Code Name: Prince by astrangerenters

• The whole AU itself is lovable. With a touch of crack and a dose of sexual situations. Or close to it.

Perfect by quartered

• Workaholic Matsumoto meets someone. That's it.
• Parts 2, 3, 4, and 5.

Flesh and Bones by gimmick_game

• The last part is the only thing that made me put it here. That's how amusing it was.

• Signature angst.

The Dawn Shard by astrangerenters

• I'm no big on Final Fantasy but you don't really need to know the game to appreciate this.

• Office AU with Sakurai as the big boss and Matsumoto needing what every worker does.
• Has a really good semi-sequel called Recession Proof by tangiblewhimsy

• Everything he thought he knew was wrong.
• You know, that line is just the killer.

• Arashi + Grey's Anatomy. Sort of.

• Riverboat AU banging with a touch of angst.

The One Where Nino is a Psychic Detective by astrangerenters

• Crack. I see this is a parody of JE itself and for that, I love it.

Life for Art's Sake by taykash

• If Jun were an economist, Sho thinks, together they could take over the world.
• THIS FIC, MAN. I just love Sho in here. I'm usually very picky regarding stories written in Sho's pov, because people hardly get it right. But this, oh this. Sho has all my goddamn love.

Non-AU:
Static Cling by nunuuu ❤

• Am I that repulsive?
• That line just screamed, "Angsttttt" in case you didn't hear it. Has a second part here.

• If it's a dream then Sho would have loved him back. and "Why do you keep hurting me?"
• That line. I just felt like that line defined how much of an asshole Sakurai was back then. I believe he was.

• Waiting for someone else when he's got someone waiting, too.
• You know, when you put that in a fic, I'll read it. I love dense Sakumoto. Or preoccupied Sakumoto. Okay, I love angsty Sakumoto.

• Magnets. Oh, and sex.

• They each try to forget. Because, after all, it's impossible.
• Well, this is actually under 'very-realistic-fic-that-made-me-weak-on-the-knees'. Because I love fics close to reality.

• Angst with awkward Sakurai.
• Of four parts, 2, 3, 4. Oh, and an epilogue.

Breaking Hearts by silentchord

• Sho breaks Jun's heart everyday.
• Of course he does (or I believe so because I love angst).

Groundhog Day by satsumatsu

• "Oh, don't be surprised. You knew it, you knew it for years and chose to ignore it."
• Well, that's basically it. Semi-AU, but I'll put it here.

On Reconnecting by nunuuu

• Please don't hate me. and “Follow me around a little, would you? Just like before. Like you still admire me. It makes me happy, you know?”
• Makes me happy, too. Bonus letter and Aiba Masaki being miracle boy.

• I have a weakness for the nickname. That did it.

• Read anything clovert wrote. Anything. She uses Sakumoto facts and turns them into this huge ball of angst.

• He can't remember when, but somewhere along the way, he had lost the child running behind him with the bright eyes and cute smile.
• JFC when you put that on a fic, I die a little inside.

• Sometimes Matsumoto Jun would think, if Sakurai Sho suddenly died one day, it probably wouldn't be odd if he followed after.
• Not going to spoil it, but I suggest you read this using your arrow keys. The last line, OH HOW AMAZING.

• Basically those two lines made this an instant favorite.

• Chat-transcript style that blew my mind. I usually hate chat-style fic, but this is gold.

• Break-up fic with trying again.

Education Beyond Book Spines by katmillia

• I'm actually a Pharmacy student, and one of my subjects last semester is Anatomy. And good God, how I learned. I learned the goddamn surface anatomy of bones way better when I read this compared to that time I was reading my PhyAna book.

• Forgot to put this here before. Anyway, This can be under AU since it has some things that didn't really happen but I'll put it here since I see the author as someone very creative in her stories.
• I actually like her writing, and her Nino. I think her Nino is worth mentioning.

Jun/Nino:
I can say this is my second favorite Arashi pairing. The snark makes it attractive.

AU:

• I JUST. This was recced to me by a friend, and I don't regret reading it. This has to be my favorite Matsumiya fic.

• Just put 'historical' and 'AU' together and I'll read it.

Raine, Raine, Go Away by nicefinalbeam ❤

• Magical carnival AU that blew my mind with the last line.
• I, again, suggest you read it using your arrow keys.

Legs Avenue by katmillia

• Jun owns an adult goods store and has items with very good names on them.
• And the names were all original, and I really, really commend the author for that. She has an amazing brain.

• Space AU with a very reliable computer.

• "Think of him."
• What is so amazing in this fic is that it began with how ended and ended with how it all began. Oh, and has Ohno/Nino.

Stretches of Your Shifting Shadow by miscetera

• "Don't quote your songs at me. I'm not your fan."
• Snark and that makes it fun.

Stay by honooko

• "Why are you leaving?" with "I always leave."
• Okay. That's what I loved about this.

Sho/Nino:
Sad that I only read AUs for this pairing. No, I actually read a lot but these are just the ones that made it in my internal memory.

• "Don't feel sorry for me. I don't want your sympathy."
• Has to be my favorite Sakumiya fic. Okay, read anything miscetera wrote. ANYTHING.

• The dialogue. If I quote my favorites I will end up posting the entire fic, trust me.

• Hah, I love that D no Arashi episode, and this just made me love it even more.

• I have no words for this. The setting, imo, fits those three very well, and it's one of those stories that nailed the three of them.

Phone Sex is Sometimes Really the Only Answer by vintage_belle

• Five boys go on filming and did something other than filming. In the same room.
• Read anything vintage_belle wrote. She writes good smut.

ARASHI/OTHER:
Ohno/Becky:
Only one fic and it's AU, because srsly, this pairing is even rarer that Sho and Jun hugging. Oh yes it is.

• THIS ONE. A friend recommended this to me, saying, "It's not OTP but READ IT." And when I did, I don't regret anything. This has to be one of those exceptional stories that you can impose on a non-fandom friend but that friend can still relate and will still be moved.

Aiba/Becky:

• Beauty and the Beast AU. Also, "Breeches."

• Bonus Nakai being a good boss.

Aiba/Jun:

I have a soft spot for these two. I think they're cute.

• In which Ninomiya thinks the best way to Aiba's pants is by doing a porn movie screenplay by Sakurai Sho. Admit it, that's what makes you want to read it.

• In general, fic is heartbreaking but hopeful.

• Here's the deal. I never read OC fics. NEVER. But I read this because she wrote it, and she wrote it beautifully. And the way she wrote it was unique.
• Honestly not an AU.

• If you know CLUE, this is a gem. If not, still worth your time.

• A lot of Sho/Jun doing their nasties in rather questionable places. But I'm not really complaining.
