Just got back from Cabbagetown. Carroll Street is a disaster, complete with Red Cross people walking around asking if everyone is OK. Milltown Arms, where I was hosting trivia, was the only place open. They got lucky - they were open at the time, with the door open; their only damage was one busted window and some lost roof shingles. The Cotton ( Read more... )

I had a doctor's appointment at 4:00. He's on Buford Hwy, just south of Druid Hills (right across the street from the Waffle House where Kid Rock was arrested). At 4:45 or so, it started to snow. Honest to God snow - big ol' fat flakes of the white stuff. I left at 5:00 to head back to the office ( Read more... )

Done with holiday shopping. Placed a couple of online orders a few minutes ago; that stuff should arrive later this week. Some of it will be late since Chanukah ends on Wednesday, but I'm pretty sure everyone will get over it.

OK, now it's raining.

Know why? It's not because it's raining a mile away and the system moved this way. It's because the dog decided she wanted to go out. Just now.

(Luckily, I took her out 15 minutes ago, and she did her thing. After one last check on the 10thCD race, it's bedtime.)

It's said in these parts that if you don't like the weather, just wait five minutes or drive a mile up the road - it'll change.

It is absolutely pouring down rain at Turner Field right now; the game is now in a rain delay.

I live a mile to the east as the crow flies. Not a drop.
