I was hoping to fly to Cleveland tomorrow and stay till Sunday, to get to a friends' wedding. This morning, freaked out by yesterday's little incident, I decided to cancel my visit. I had been hoping that recovery from the operation would consist of a monotonic improvement in my condition. No such luck. Today I went back to the ENT for a routine followup visit, which basically consists of him cleaning up around the areas where he made incisions, and that put me in a whole world of pain. About an hour ago, I managed to drop a vessel containing 6½ gallons of water on my finger. I don't think I fractured it....

The Blue Angels are in town, as they are for 4 days each August. This generally elicits a bout of complaining from Seattleites, as mocked by Dylan on Metroblogging, and about which I am a fence-sitter.
