Neil is off today, due to Veteran's Day. When it falls on a Saturday, County employees get the previous Friday off; when it's on Sunday, they get the following Monday, and of course, should it fall on a weekday, they get that day off. We're planning to take a trip to the Coast.
I may or may not have pictures, depending on the light. Sometimes, when the sky is overcast, there is just not enough contrast to take good pictures. *shrug* But we'll see.
At the moment, Neil is showering. We've had coffee and breakfast. I have some dried kiwi from Costco in the car. Very unusual, but also very tasty. One would not think that dried kiwi would taste good, but it does (at least to me). The owner of the local yarn shop had some in a snack bowl for the knitting group that meets there.
Work on the light blue top proceeds apace. All the mistakes (for now, at least) are ironed out, so here's hoping it'll be smooth knitting from here.
It's stupid - I know, but I am getting a wee bit nervous about Monday's chemo session. Mostly, I confess, because of the anticipation of the needle. I have been told a jillion times that, "Oh, you get used to it." Alas, I never do and probably never will. Exposure, at least for me, does not lessen the phobia. It's the same with just about any kind of medical thing. We're not even going to discuss "girly" exams, the mere thought of which makes my skin crawl, not to mention nausea and general queasiness. Oh well...
I caught Spot in mid-leap, just as he launched himself at my chest. I guess he heard, "Don't jump on me," as "Please, jump on me." Strange little cat. Hermione is pretty odd, too. She "swats" at my hand to get my attention, then cringes as if she's about to be beaten when I reach out to stroke her. At least Princess is now behaving a bit more like a normal pet. She's been confined to our bedroom for a couple of months now, and she'll actually get up on the bed and allow herself to be cuddled. Sometimes, she'll even seek affection. Now, if only I could get Velvet to do the same. Velvet, who has lived here since kittenhood, still flees in terror if I so much as speak to her. Go figure.
Time to get dressed, and get moving, so...
