3 things: job search, Porchfest, the woes of international airlines

1. This week I have attended two workshops at the reemployment center. One was on job goals and training and education and certifications in general, aimed toward people who are trying to switch career tracks (which I am; I would prefer not to go back to retail), and the other was a specific introduction to an online training database. I have signed up to get an account on that database, but bureaucracy being what it is, that will take a couple weeks. *sigh*

2. Sunday is Porchfest, and once again Downstairs Neighbor S has signed our house up as a stage. The schedule and map aren't up quite yet, but I have scrolled down through the full list of musicians (which also lists performance times and locations), and I believe we will be hosting three sets: one each at 2pm, 3pm, and 4pm.

This is good because it means I can attend the activities fair after church and still get home in time to reassure Dottie before the music starts. (I will probably have to go in through my back door, though, since I suspect the porch will already be covered in extension cords and other paraphernalia.)

I may take Dottie out to experience some of the music, since I think she will react to that better than to being stuck indoors in a place that is "not hers" with loud music playing right on the other side of the wall.

3. My parents had to adjust their schedule by a couple days, because of an impending Air France strike. They will leave Morocco on Saturday rather than Monday, and spend the intervening time in London doing who knows what. Well, there is a lot of stuff to do in London. I am sure they will think of something. It probably won't be as cool as visiting Marrakesh, but eh, you can't win 'em all.
