Almost a month has gone by since I last posted a picture of the succulent ball. I don't notice the growth so much until I see the past pictures I took. We haven't had rain here in awhile and I've been watering everything about twice a week. I was holding the hose set on gentle spray in one hand and my camera in the other.....
I think this is the best my garden has ever looked--at least it is the most colorful it has ever been.
I have become obsessed with lantanas! The butterflies love them! They are all in hanging pots or containers and doing well, except they need watered a lot. But I don't mind. It takes about an hour and is very relaxing to me. When Pete asks if I want him to water, I always say no....I want to do it. It is therapeutic, plus I get to check out everything and see how it is doing.
These are in a large pot by the front door . . .
This is the wheelbarrow bursting with flowers of all kinds . . .
My new orchid -- a Vanda. The first one of these I've ever had. I was buying more lantana and I saw it and could not resist! The flowers are spotted, the leaf structure is dramatic, and I forgot to take a picture of the roots, they trail down almost three feet long and there is no pot, just a tiny open basket for support, I guess.
And the Hoyas continue to put out more flowers than I've ever seen before . . .
Caught this butterfly just as it was about to land on the lantanas . . .
A container of color. I love the pansies, but they don't last long here. I took this picture a few weeks ago after a nice rain that cleaned out the final leaves from the oak trees. Pete is happy about that.
