I have not posted in LJ for a long time now and I had to look at my last post just to see how long it's been. Four weeks! I would have been back sooner, but a few weeks ago I noticed that I could not read any comments anyone made on my journal or comments on friends’ journals except for the first one that was posted…..then there was an error message. How aggravating to not be able to read the comments in either place. I did go into LJ FAQ and found that this problem had been reported, so I was not alone. Finally after all this time, today I see it is fixed. Some things look a bit different on the LJ, too. I wonder what they’ve done/changed this time around.
Much has happened and I’ve taken lots of pictures, too, so here goes . . .
Our first group of company has come and gone: two classmates from high school who I graduated with (52 years ago). We reminisced so much, almost constantly, about our small graduating class of about 75. Sally lived in Sugarcreek Valley not far from us and we were good friends and played together beginning in about 4th grade. And Fred, a boy I had a crush on along with about half the other girls in school. He still lives in Franklin, but Sally lives in Plant City here in Florida. They have both been married twice and both widowed and divorced twice to other people, and are now a couple or just good friends, they say. Fred comes down and stays with Sally like a snowbird for about six months or so. I hadn’t seen either one of them since graduation until last year when Sally found me on facebook and we realized we only lived about two hours from each other.
I got my iMac computer, but so far all I’ve done is get it turned on, logged in with the wi fi and played around a little bit. It has a 27” screen, which is awesome, but I am a bit intimidated learning and going back and forth between the PC and Mac. Serious computer stuff may have to wait until summer months.
I have a lousy sinus infection that started a few days ago. Every year I seem to get one about this time and I’m beginning to think it comes from all the pollen. Pete has one, too, and about half a dozen people we know have them also. My knee is killing me and I am hobbling around. I have no idea how I hurt it or what happened to make it hurt so much, but I hope it heals soon.
My sister is coming in just a few days!
I’ve taken a few photography day trips and one two-day trip. I will share some of those pictures here as time goes on.
The gallery has been hopping the last few months. I’m out there often replacing what has sold with new things. This year is the gallery’s 25th anniversary and lots of celebrations have been going on there.
I have been creating a book cover for a local author for several years now and he says it’s time for another one. I put him off until May, but he’s really been bugging me.
Grandson Josh came home from Japan and had a two week leave. Now he is waiting for orders on where he’ll be stationed next.
Granddaughter Maria got new glasses and her driver’s license!
The weather has been gorgeous here the last few weeks with little rain, low humidity - kind of like spring!
Twenty hanging pots I got planted with flowers and the orchids are beginning to bloom.
Pete is continuing with therapy and doing well with that.
The scar on my face has changed very little.
It was a foggy morning as Priscilla and I drove to Myakka last week. We were afraid the fog would be burned off by the time we got there, so we pulled off the road and took a couple of pictures. This is straight out of the camera as the sun was coming up . . .
From the backyard--A bird in the orchid this morning . . .
My eagle mates are back this year and now have two babies! I took these pictures two weeks ago. I’m sure they have grown so much bigger by now. I’ll be taking my sister out to see them, I’m sure.
Here’s one of the pictures I took at Wakodahatchee Wetlands and Green Cay Preserve. The elegant Great Egrets in their breeding plumage and colors.
I took this last night in the back yard: A Red-bellied woodpecker coming and going . . .
