Covered in cats

Jan 28, 2008 18:54

This morning when I awoke all 4 cats were on the bed with me. This is somewhat unusual. Most of the time at least one of them refuses to be in the same area with one of the others. Two cats were cuddled up against me. The other two were on Eldred's unoccupied side of the bed. It was lovely. I was able to sleep in because Monday is my day to work the evening.

I got up around 9:30 to await the pest control guy. He arrived early for the 10:00 appointment. All the cats except Aelfgifu ran and hid. Josie peered out once. Aelf stuck closed to me and kept rubbing against my leg. She wasn't sure about the intruder, but didn't want to hide. Josie was the first to reappear after he left. Ignatius was under the bed. Kiera was nowhere to be found. Eventually, Ignatius came out. Kiera put in an appearance before I left the house, so all cats were accounted for before I left. I am always paranoid I will shut one of them in the closet or, worse, one of the forbidden rooms!

The weather was wonderful. It was sunny and so warm I took off my winter coat and just put a scarf around my shoulders. A breath of spring in January. I'm sure it will get cold again.

I made a quick stop at Staples to order a return address stamp. I am mailing out end-of-year contribution statements for UUFC. Unlike GUUF we have single window envelopes. No way I am handwriting the return address about a hundred times. I'll pick up the stamp on the way to work tomorrow. The statements will be out in plenty of time to meet the January 31st deadline. Now if only I could get the required information from vendors to do the 1099-MISC forms.
