I can't really pick at anything about yesterday's big story. I'm still anti-war, and anti-this-war-in-particular, but no one can defend Saddam or say that he doesn't deserve whatever's coming. I just watched What the World Thinks of America. I guess the CBC got together with a bunch of other public broadcasters, and polled people in those countries, and in the U.S., to see what we all think of them. It's funny, despite what Ari Fleischer says, I don't remember seeing 1.18 billion people out demonstrating in support of this war. Maybe he means that about 40 old men who happen to be heads of state support this war. That Bush wants war doesn't mean that 280 million (or whatever) Americans do ( Read more... )

One other little thing that's upsetting about the media coverage of the war: in the little title screens that they run at the top of the hour, or whatever, instead of showing explosions, and guns firing among bright colours and and words like, "Ultimatum: Iraq", or "On the brink of war", why don't they instead show piles of dead bodies ( Read more... )

In his weekly radio address, Bush sez :"We are doing everything we can to avoid war in Iraq. But if Saddam Hussein does not disarm peacefully, he will be disarmed by force."

In my periodic responses to him, I say: "No, everything you can do to avoid war in Iraq is to start pulling your toys away from the Gulf, now!
