So a lot has been going on as of late. Time is kind of flying right by. Seems the days go faster when you're not in misery and pain. Imagine that.

Kate and I went to our friends, the Finks, this weekend. They had an amazing party on Saturday and Kate and I had an amazing time with them and their friends. I got plenty of time to grill while there; not only on gas like normal but on Johns oh so awesome charcoal grill. Rock on! Yeah, was going to write more but I just don't feel like it.

For the first time, in a long time, I have nothing really to complain about.  Life is going pretty well I feel.  I'll break down recent events into smaller sections:

Health:
I'm not having any flare ups, pain or other horrible symptoms of Crohn's Disease.  This is amazing as it is the first time in years I'm not flaring, in pain, without appetite or ( Read more... )

Kate and I are sitting on the NJ Transit train in Penn Station NYC waiting to depart for home. We came into the city for the Fifth annual Big Apple BBQ; while this was its fifth year it was our first. I doubt however it will be our last!

We ate some amazingly awesome food. some of the best ribs, brisket and BBQ chicken I've ever had. The quality ( Read more... )

Life, life is happening and let me tell you it feels GREAT. I've had a good week of normal life now and am quite impressed. I've been able to do my job, keep active, function and even be an assistance around the house for Kate. It's wonderful. Went out for a ride this morning. After last night I was expecting to go maybe 300 feet and turn around. But I adjusted the seat for a more comfortable position and set out. I cruised a bit and went into a development that I thought was much larger than it was. After reaching the end and coming back to the beginning I decided to keep going. I ( Read more... )

So today Kate took me to Halters Cycles to pick up the bike I ordered earlier in the week. I picked a Giant Cypress LX. This is what is called a "comfort" bike and will allow me to get out of the house and get myself to local places such as the food store, produce market, hair cuts etc etc. The bikes design is that of a mountain bike frake, an ( Read more... )

I am home. Feeling much better. Still in a lot of pain (non-stomach) from the surgery, body is bloated, back is on fire and my feet are so swollen I can't stand.

.... Unless I've full control of my chart. The staff should be recording all fluids in to me, and more importantly out. Due to what seemed like a lack of flow my fluids have been upped so high I am completely swollen and bloated. Issue is I am draining GREAT! The nurses have on average recorded 1/4 to 1/2 of my urination and less of my surgical ( Read more... )
