Have just been doing sums (again) about childcare costs now **TODO has started nursery, and the fees have just gone up by about 4%. The childcare costs almost as much as the mortgage! Ok, so we're paying very little on the mortgage at the moment (thank you economic crisis) but the little Daffodils are only in childcare two days a week ( Read more... )

My little **TODO said his first word yesterday! Dozens of times, and again today. He says "Gat! Gat! Gat! Gat! Gat! Gat!" to mean the cat. He's really fascinated by the poor creature at the moment, and starts excitedly shouting the alert whenever he sees her, pursuing her unsteadily but determinedly on his four legs. Many of you will remember that **TODO spent the second week of his life in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the local hospital, under observation after recurrent fits. They ruled out most of the really desperately worrying things back then, and since then he's been fine, so it was probably just one of those things babies sometimes do ( Read more... )
